The Grammys have announced the names of the nominees for the Best Reggae Album award for 2020 and Koffee’s “Rapture,” the five-song EP, is among five albums nominated in this year’s reggae category of the Grammy awards.

Koffee’s nomination picks up another stride from last year’s Etana nomination that broke the drought of female nominations, once more going ahead to set her own record by becoming the youngest solo artiste to earn a Grammy nomination in the reggae category.

Julian Marley returns on the Grammy’s spotlight 10 years later with a second nomination. He was nominated in 2009 for the Best Reggae Album Grammy for the album “Awake’.

The nomination list features veteran reggae artists/bands who are past winners and nominees. Sly & Robbie won the Best Reggae Album Grammy in 1998 for the album “Friends”. This is their 12th Grammy nomination. Steel Pulse won the Best Reggae Album Grammy in 1986 for the album “Babylon The Bandit”. This is their 9th Best Reggae Album Grammy nomination. This is Third World’s 9th Best Reggae Album Grammy nomination.

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards takes place on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
