Skillibeng is the name been echoed by the fans of Dancehall, he has Jamaica on lockdown with his lyrical arsenal and now he’s venturing overseas.
Skillibeng burst onto the scene with ‘Brik Pon Brik‘ and since then he’s just gaining altitude with his music and contacts. One of the first artists to show Skillibeng encouragement was Popcaan the Unruly Boss. Who’s a powerhouse in Dancehall and both artists can be seen on social platforms chilling, Popcaan has made several appearances in Skilli’s music videos and even had a feature on ‘Pree‘ song from Skillibeng.
The Hip Hop community can’t get enough of Skillibeng from Lil Baby, Drake, Bruna Boy, RichTheKid, Bobby Shmurda, Yung Miami, and more.
Nicki Minaj is another artist from the Hip Hop genre who loves Skillibeng’s approach to music, his rhyming style, punchlines, this is evident because Nicki has done a remix with Skillibeng to ‘Crocodile Teeth‘ featured on her current mix tape ‘Beam Me Up Scotty‘
With so much love coming in locally and internationally it isn’t a surprise to find Skillibeng in the UK’s top 100 singles chart with ‘Crocodile Teeth‘ entering at number 74. It’s a great look for Mr. Crocodile Teeth aka Skillibeng to be in charts alongside Drake, Little Mix, Justin Bieber with an authentic Dancehall record.
This entry into the UK chart is particularly important for Dancehall because there are no other songs in the charts from the genre at present, and once again it proves that Dancehall music does have a place on international charts and can sell numbers.
