Buju Banton, whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie, is a Reggae Dancehall artist from Jamaica who first gained widespread popularity in the 1990s with hits such as “Love Sponge,” “Untold Stories,” and “Murderer.” In addition to his successful music career, Banton is also known for his powerful lyrics which uplift and inspire the masses.
Despite serving nearly a decade in prison Buju Banton remains a popular and influential figure in the Reggae Dancehall scenes locally and internationally.
Beres Hammond is a living legend known for his smooth and soulful vocal style. He first gained widespread popularity in the 1980s. Beres Hammond has many hits songs like “Tempted to Touch,” “Double Trouble,” and “Rockaway.” Hammond has released numerous albums throughout his career and has made music that has touched people’s hearts of all ages.
1 January 2023 was the date for the epic event featuring Reggae Dancehall elites Buju Banton and Beres Hammond, the pre-build was crazy their fans were anticipating a gala show.
As expected the crowds came out in their thousands for a night of quality music in Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in Jamaica. The concert lineup was impressive featuring Tarrus Riley, LUST, Marcia Griffiths, and other special guests. Buju Banton and Beres Hammond did not disappoint their fans, and the feedback was well received. This shows that despite everything there is still the need for quality music and the audience will pay well for events like these.
