We may be in a pandemic, but that isn’t stopping Dancehall legend Beenie Man from celebrating retired basketballer Dwayne Wade’s 39th birthday.
The Jamaican star helped Wade and wife actress Gabriel Union turn up dancehall style on a beach, performing his signature hit ‘Sim Simma’ – socially distanced of course.
Posting a snippet of the intimate show, he wrote: “Earth day blessings to my brother @dwyanewade, more life & blessings. Respect & love to @gabunion. Tonight was one for the books!’

The Wades certainly looked like they had a great time, as they were seen dancing a short distance away by a bonfire and were all smiles in a snapshot with the ‘King Of The Dancehall’ hitmaker.
Dwayne was so pleased with his personal performance that he thanked the star in his comments, writing: ‘Legend!!!! I was speechless brother. Thanks for the love.’
If Beenie’s performance for the Wades is anything to go by, then fans are in for a treat when his 19th studio album drops.
SIMMA the dancehall star’s next album was originally due out for release on the 22nd of August last year – Beenie’s birthday – but was delayed after a series of developments in the star’s personal life, including losing his mother.
On Instagram, he posted: ‘SIMMA #TheAlbum. Blessings my fans, mi see the messages, the emails, the questions, and the calls! We had to push back the album release due to all the personal unexpected challenges. You know I give you my best at all times and I wanted to ensure I was in the best space mentally & emotionally before I dropped the album. LIKE I SAID THOUGH, BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL.’
A new release date for ‘Simma’ has yet to be announced.
