Koffee wins Grammy for ‘Rapture’ EP

Koffee, 19-year-old from Spanish Town Jamaica. Very talented songwriter she left school with the ambition of becoming an artist and so said, it was done. Writing lyrics for songs from school days, she knew exactly where she wanted to be, probably didn’t know how quick she would reach that point.

Her tribute song for Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt was uploaded on the internet and caught the attention of the world record holder who shared it with his massive fan base.

In terms of songs,  Koffee doesn’t have the biggest catalogue but more quality over quantity.

Her fan base grew at a rapid pace, with appearances with Cocoa Tea on Rebel Salute, Opening for Chronixx in London among other live performances.

Koffee was well received with tracks like “Raggamuffin” “Burning” and “Throne” and then she hit the world with “Toast” and the seal was open. From there Koffee had shows where she was the headline act.

“Rapture” EP launch in London was a prime example of how fast her popularity had spread, the launch was ram pack with all phones out recording. Sold out show in Shepherd Bush London, US and worldwide. All the time working heavily behind the scene making sure everything was just right.

2019 a lot of people was in shock her debut EP ‘Rapture’ had gotten a Grammy nomination. Which made her overjoyed to know her work has been recognized on that level. Not letting the spotlight dazzle her sight she remains calm and let the music speak.

The last part of 2019 she dropped a killer collaboration with rapper Gunna a track called “W”. This got major airplay not only the Reggae Dancehall scene but also on commercial radio worldwide which increase the awareness of Koffee even more.

62nd Grammy Awards on Sunday the 26 January 2020, some said she won’t get it, while others were confident on her victory. Well, let’s get right to the chase, Koffee walked away with her first Grammy.
