Christoper Ellis is the son of ‘The Godfather of Rocksteady‘, Alton Ellis. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and when you hear Christoper sings, you know that the musical blood is strong in him.
Born on March 12, 1982 in London, Christoper would travel on tours with his Dad, at the time he may not of known the importance of his father in the Reggae genre. In the video below Christoper breaks down what it felt like hearing his Dad on dubplate for the first time, in addition to that Christopher speaks about why he keeps his dubplate voicing limited to just some sound systems. He also explains the overwhelming love of performing in London, especially at the Jazz Cafe in Camden.
