Buju Banton took to Instagram to voice his thoughts on the issue of trust.
“It was the hand of Jah on the wall. It was the hand of God on the wall,” Buju sings. “It was the hand of Jah who was writing on that wall.” Buju pauses then asks, “do you want to know what it said?”
His reply comes from a quotation from The Bible’s book of Daniel: “I have weighed you and found you wanting,” Buju says. Daniel 5.27 references a judgment being passed on a subject and that the subject does not measure up to the standards that have been set.
“My people in Jamaica,” Buju pleads,” and my people around the world, Open your eyes. Stop believing the lies! They have been lying to us ever since we were born. Do not trust them. The NBC, CNN, do not trust them. Even you in Jamaica, the JVC, the TV J – do not trust non ah dem,”
Kicking off with a melodic acapella, Buju Banton urges everyone not to trust the local and international news agencies in this COVID-19 world lock-down.
